The foundation was laid in 1788 by Mr. Joh. Haas. He founded a print shop and later a paper shop at Welser Stadtplatz No. 34.
- Over the course of the last decades, the paper trade developed into the leading company in the paper, office supplies and stationery sector – PBS.
- The print shop became Austria’s most successful manufacturer of learning material – Format Werk.
